Judy of the home, a son Martin and wife Janet Lloyd of Green City; three daughters, Melodie and husband Allen Lewis of LaPlata, Missouri, Melanie and husband Steve Peterson of Kirksville, Missouri, Melinda and husband Rod Hatcher of Milan, Missouri, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a brother Thomas and wife Vicki Lloyd of Kirksville, Missouri and a sister in-law, Bonnie and husband Paul Judd of Pharr, Texas.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alma Lloyd, two brothers, one at birth and Roger Lloyd, his in-laws, Payne and Juanita Rouse.He was a farmer and was employed at Con Agra for five years, before his employment with the Missouri Highway Transportation Department. After 37 years he retired at the age of 73.He enjoyed spending time with his family and on the farm.Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri with Rolf Christen officiating. Jana Young will provide music. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City. Casket bearers are Brett Lewis, Grant Hatcher, Brandon Peterson, Jacob Hubbard, Caleb Peterson, Steve Peterson, Allen Lewis, and Rod Hatcher. Honorary bearers are Dale Niece, Gary Powell, Dennis McNear, Darrin Embree, Joe Pearce, Hal Moore, Drew Daniels, and Clint Grgurich. A scheduled visitation will be held on Friday evening December 9, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Contributions are suggested to Prairie Chapel Methodist Church, Mt. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.Andrew Alexander “Andy” Steele, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (December 2, 2016) at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.Andy was born December 4, 1935 in Novinger, Missouri, the son of the late Theodore S. and Gladys C. (McNalley) Steele. Sonny was a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church, the Memphis Masonic Lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M., a lifetime member of the Vern Stone American Legion Post 219, the El Kadir Shrine Club in Kirksville, Missouri and the Ozark Mountain Collectors Club. He was an active member of the Scotland County Boy Scouts as a young boy and continued to actively work with the scouting program for many years, achieving their highest ranking of honor, The Silver Beaver. He was a past member of the Scotland County Rotary Club and also served on the Scotland County R-1 School Board. Sonny tried to keep active in his community, sitting on many boards and helping where he could.Over the years, Sonny enjoyed traveling and camping with his family and he had visited all 50 states. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and was especially proud to claim a “hole-in-one” at the Timber Ridge Country Club, playing poker at Timber Ridge, deer hunting and trap shooting and was an avid collector of Pepsi memorabilia. He loved to tease and joke with everyone and was always wanting to get to know people and help them in any way he could. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.Left to honor his memory is his son, Mike Johnson and his wife, Beth, of Memphis; his daughters: Lori AlJundi and her husband, Eyad, of Kirksville, Missouri and Dana Bondurant and her husband, Brent, of Memphis. Carrier in 1960.A 1964 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 1966 graduate of Hannibal LaGrange University with a Associate of Commerce Degree. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, Mo. in 1968 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration. He later graduated from the Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.Gary served as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict on the U.S.S. Meyerkord. Gary made three “WestPac” deployments, to Vietnam. He was discharged in February, 1976 and enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves and served until 2000. He served in three reserve centers in Hannibal, Kansas City, and St. Louis and made numerous two-week deployments to many ships ranging from Destroyers, Assault Carriers, and Amphibious ships. He began his professional career in banking in 1976 with the Missouri Division of Finance as an Assistant Bank Examiner in Hannibal. In 1979, he was promoted to Commissioned Bank Examiner. In 1982, he was transferred to the Division of Finance office in Jefferson City until his retirement in 2002. During his retirement he worked as a Consultant with the Missouri Division of Finance and in 2008, at the request of a colleague, he accepted a position to be a Loan Review Officer with Hawthorn Bank. He enjoyed his time at Hawthorn Bank until ill health forced him to retire in 2016.Gary enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, quilting, home remodeling, and building model ships.
